I’m Kathy, a Blue Mountains local with a love of baking, creating tasty home baked treats - from traditional classics through to contemporary bakes with interesting flavours and seasonal ingredients.

Sublime Baking gives everyone the chance to experience the joy of home baked goodies, without the hassle.

My baking uses real, high quality ingredients featuring seasonal produce and interesting flavours - and everything is made from scratch, just for you.

My baking style

For me, flavour is front and centre of everything I bake, presented just as I would if you were a guest in my own home.

I love baking the tried and tested classic favourites with simplicity of flavour that speaks for itself. But I equally enjoy exploring interesting flavours, pursuing that special “something” that ramps up the taste experience - think spice, warmth and zing!

A bit about me

I grew up on a sheep property where country cooking and baking were a part of life. Country picnics, agricultural shows and baking for the shearers all formed my early experience of baking. And with no nearby shops, home made biscuits and cakes were a staple.

Taking inspiration from my mother’s self-taught baking skills, I developed a keen interest in creating, and eating, good food with authentic flavours. Morning tea, afternoon tea and dessert are still my favourite meals!

Moving from the farm to live and work in Sydney, I continued baking for friends and workmates. Since settling in the Blue mountains with my own family in 2000, I have become even more passionate about cooking and baking.

When I’m not baking, you’ll find me enjoying the bush and fresh air, visiting local gardens, listening to music, and generally enjoying the wonderful Blue Mountains lifestyle.

Why did I start Sublime Baking?

Sublime Baking came into being as a way to share my love of truly delicious baked treats, creating heart warming, tasty home baked goodies for everyone to enjoy.

After an intense 18 months honing my baking skills, I took the leap to bring Sublime Baking to fruition and share my love of baking with all of you!

Sharing my baking with others gives me the opportunity to try new recipes and dive deep into the world of baking.
